Fire Ratings of Visionary Recessed Luminaires
There are particular applications where recessed luminaires are required to have a fire rating that is stipulated by the fire engineer for the building in question. No Visionary recessed luminaire carries a 'fire rating' - though all products that are compliant to 'IC-F' have a degree of resistance to fire and tracking. It is, however, important to not confuse the terminology between 'rated' and 'resistance' as they are bound by completely different safety standards.
Generally, when a ceiling is part of a 'fire cell', a 'fire rated' fitting is required. In New Zealand, we adopt the (CSIRO) AS 1530.4-2005 standard for compliance with fire ratings of products.
Visionary Fire Cone
Visionary utilises fire cones as simple and effective method to attain fire ratings when using our recessed luminaires. The fire cones allow fire engineers to specify our recessed luminaires within fire cells - provided they are combined with fire cones that meet the fire rating requirements specified by the engineer.
The ratings for the Visionary fire cones are listed in the below table;
Product | Compliance | Rating |
Fire Cone - Small 150x150mm |
(CSIRO) AS 1530.4-2005 | -- / 120 / 90 |
Fire Cone - Medium 200x200mm |
