Can one remote control two lengths of strip lighting with two separate controllers?

Yes. Multiple controllers can work with one remote, as long as the controllers are withing 25-30m of the remote (line of sight). If barriers are between the remote and controller, the distance will be reduced. 

(Think of the controller like a WIFI router; the more walls/rooms between the router and your computer, the worse your connection is.)
